Footwear consumer prices rise sharply

10/12/2007

According to the latest figures released by Statistics Norway, footwear and clothing consumer prices rose a significant 2% month-on-month in November, above the general Consumer Price Index (CPI) levels of 1.6% growth. However, in spite of this increase, footwear and apparel prices still remain 4.5% lower than in November 2006.

The rise in CPI last month has been largely attributed to higher energy prices.
