BASF raises polyalcohol prices

03/12/2007

Due to increased operating, logistics, and raw material costs, German chemical company BASF AG has announced that it is to increase prices for its neopentylglycol, trimethylolpropane and hydroxypivalic acid neopentylglycolester across Europe, with immediate effect or as contracts allow.

Neopentylglycol (NPG) prices will be raised by €0.15/kg, Trimethylolpropane (TMP) by €0.19/kg and Hydroxypivalic acid neopentylglycolester (HPN) by €0.15/kg.

Polyalcohols are widely used in solvent-free coatings as well as in the production of polyurethanes, alkyd resins and synthetic lubricants.
