Revenues soar at Detny
Whilst sales at retailers such as Famous Footwear and Shoe Pavilion may be showing signs of a decline in demand for traditional shoes, it appears that consumers are still lapping up “hybrid” if the results at American brand Detny Footwear, Inc. are anything to go by.
“Designer comfort” footwear company Detny has reported a four-fold increase in revenue over 2006 and is forecasting revenues of $3.3 billion for next year.
"We're very proud of the progress we made in 2007, but it's just the beginning," said Shawn Ward, co-founder, "As we assemble an experienced sales team and open 'Detny by Shane&Shawn' stores across the country, we look forward to taking our operation to the next level."
Detny shoes are currently sold in 14 Nordstrom stores nationwide, and it is anticipated that 25 Nordstrom locations will carry the brands by the close of 2008. The footwear is also sold at Macy's flagship store at Herald Square, and the company expects to sell product in ten Macy's locations by the end of 2008.
