The Walking Company acquires Natural Comfort
American retailer of branded comfort shoes The Walking Company, a subsidiary of Big Dog Holdings, Inc., has signed a letter of intent to purchase the assets of the Natural Comfort Footwear retail chain, which include the company’s eight retail stores in Florida. The agreement remains subject to the execution of a definitive agreement and is expected to close towards the end of the year when, if successful, Natural Comfort’s stores will be converted into The Walking Company stores.
"This is part of our continuing plan to expand the operations of The Walking Company. The acquisition of the eight Natural Comfort stores, when added to our 18 existing The Walking Company stores in Florida will brings us to 26 stores in that state by next year,” said Andrew Feshbach, chief executive of Big Dogs.
The Walking Company stocks technically designed comfort shoes and accessories including brands such as ECCO, Mephisto, Dansko, and Merrell.
