Toronto-based sports footwear, clothing and equipment retailer West 49 Inc. has reported third-quarter sales of $59.1 million compared with $58.2 million in the same period last year. The company attributed the lack of rapid growth to a challenging sales environment in Ontario.

In response it has lowered average selling price on items such as footwear and is also working to reduce production costs.
