Sreeleathers owner killed
According to reports, co-owner of shoe and accessories company Sreeleathers, Ashish Dey, was shot dead on November 2 by three unknown gunmen.
The incident took place near Mr Dey’s home in Saket Bazaar, India, as he left to visit the company’s Sakchi showroom. He died on the way to hospital. There have been suggestions that Mr Dey may have received blackmail threats prior to the shooting.
Established in 1953, Sreeleathers has 30 shops in West Bengal, Bihar, Orissa, Jharkhand, Assam and Tripura. It recently signed a distribution agreement with a firm in Athens in order to reach European markets.
