UGG sales boost Deckers Outdoor results

California-based functional footwear firm Deckers Outdoor Corporation has posted higher sales for its third quarter ended September 30.

Net sales increased 57.2% to $129.4 million compared with $82.3 million for the same period last year. Total international sales increased 58% to $14.2 million compared with $9 million last year.

Its UGG brand saw particularly high increases, with sales rising 67.5% to $113.7 million compared with $67.9 million last year. Domestic sales were fuelled by demand for boots, slippers, casuals, men’s, kids’, and its new high-end fashion collection. It also experienced strong international growth.

Teva Brand sales for the third quarter increased 12.1% to $11.2 million compared with $10 million for the same period last year. Sandals were particularly popular during the quarter.

Simple Brand sales were flat with third quarter 2006 sales at $4.4 million.

The company is increasing its 2007 full year revenue growth target to approximately 39% over 2006, up from previous guidance of approximately 35%.
