Peru’s footwear exports grew 21.9% in the January to July period compared with the same period in 2006, totalling $7.4 million.

According to the Peruvian Commission for Export and Tourism Promotion, Promperu, sales were boosted by higher demand from Colombia, Ecuador and Chile. Other export markets included the USA, Venezuela, the UK, Spain, Bolivia, Mexico and France.

The country’s biggest sellers were sandals, leather footwear and fabric shoes.

Calzado Atlas, Segurindustria, Wellco Peruana, Industria de Calzado, Fábrica de Calzado Líder and Juan Leng Delgado (Calimod) exported 64% of the country’s total footwear exports.
