According to statistics from Bulgaria’s statistics office, overall prices were up 11% in September compared with August, when the country reported a price rise of 9%.

Footwear and clothing contributed significantly to this, with prices for the sector up 4%. This doubled the price rise from the food industry – which accounts for almost one-third of the country’s price index – which saw just 2% price growth.
