Higher shoe sales lift Saks results

American retailer Saks Incorporated posted sales of $307.4 million for the five weeks ended October 6 compared with $280.8 million for the five weeks ended September 30, an increase of 9.5%. Comparable store sales were up 7.7% during the period.

The strongest sales category for the five-week period was women’s footwear, with men’s shoes and accessories also showing growth.
