A step up for Vietnamese footwear exports

The Vietnamese statistics office has revealed that the country’s leather footwear exports rose 13.4% from $2.4 billion in the January to August 2006 period to $2.7 billion for the corresponding period in 2007.
Total footwear exports for the eight-month period totalled $390 million compared with $330 million in the prior-year period.
