Samsonite steps into Indian market

Travel goods manufacturer Samsonite has launched its footwear range in India. Its Black Label is aimed at the medium-end market, while the Samsonite brand will target the premium sector.
Products will initially be imported from Italy, but the company is now looking for new production sources within India. It is expected to invest approximately Rs110 billion ($2.8 billion) in its footwear brands during its first year in the country.
