Vietnam and Germany cooperate
Germany has become Vietnam’s top trading partner with bilateral trade reaching €3.3 billion ($4.7 billion) in 2006, and it is hoped that new trade agreements between the two nations will further accelerate this growth.
Footwear and garments are starting to take on a larger share of Vietnam’s exports to Germany, which largely comprise agricultural goods.
And, with German becoming the second most common language at Vietnamese universities, and investment from the European country on the rise, the Vietnamese leather and synthetic shoe sectors are set to make even stronger gains in the near future.
