ANCI fears euro rates will harm footwear exports

Italy's National Footwear Manufacturers' Association (ANCI) has expressed concerns regarding euro exchange rates, which it says have reached an alarming level as far as shoe exports are concerned.

“This is even more worrying as a result of a dip in export volumes,” said director general, Leonardo Soana.

Mr Soana particularly highlighted the problem of trade with the United States, its third largest footwear export destination, as the dollar is currently very weak.
