Polish footwear sales jump in August

01/10/2007

A surge in footwear, textiles and clothing sales has contributed to the 17.4% overall year-on-year increase in Polish sales.

According to the country’s statistics office, sales slightly exceeded the anticipated 16.5% growth.

Increases were seen across all sectors, with sales of cars, motorcycles and parts noting the highest growth – almost 40% – and shoe, textile and ready-to-wear sales also showing significant rises.

This upward trend is expected to continue as fears of unemployment decrease and the property market begins to settle.
