UK athletic footwear company Hi-Tec has signed a new two-year sponsorship agreement with Egypt's World Number one squash player, Amr Shabana.

The twice world champion will sport the company’s new 4:SYS squash shoes, which have been launched especially for next year’s Hi-Tec World Squash Championships.

The shoes have been in development for two years and have been tested by biomechanics company Quintic Consultancy. They are said to offer 38% better impact absorption, up to 35% total reduction in force and up to six times better grip than any other brand tested by the firm.

Other wearers of the footwear include current World Champion David Palmer, James Willstrop, Nick Matthew and Lee Beachill.

Mr Shabana said: “I know of the work that has gone into their new shoes and it was great to finally get on court with them.”

“The cushioning and grip is fantastic, they are so comfortable, light and they really help my game and protect my body,” he added.
