Higher footwear figures among Vietnamese exports

Vietnam's General Statistics Office has recorded total exports worth $26.8 billion between January and July compared with $22.3 billion in the corresponding period for 2006.
Leather footwear exports rose 13.4% to $2.4 billion during the seven-month period, from the $2.1 billion in the prior-year period.
Figures for July alone indicate a huge increase in footwear exports, which rose from $340 million in July 2006 to $410 million.
