The ninth International Shoe and Leather Exhibition is currently underway in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, one of the country’s main footwear producing regions. The trade fair runs from September 18-20 and it is hoped that 8,000 trade buyers will attend, including many overseas visitors.

According to its organisers, 110 companies from 17 countries are participating at the event, showcasing a range of footwear and leather products, chemicals and machinery.

The country’s footwear exports showed year-on-year growth of 20% in 2006, totalling almost $3.6 billion.
