Santa Fe sets up trust for local footwear industry

The government of Santa Fe province in Argentina has set up a trust to give financial assistance to the local footwear industry. Specifically, the money will be available to improve infrastructure and upgrade machinery.
"The idea is to boost the sector through infrastructure extensions, acquisition of machinery and working capital," explained Mauricio Caussi, the provincial government's industry secretary.
The funding will enable small and medium-sized companies to have access to low-interest credit with repayment terms ranging from six to 24 months.
