Troubled region to receive footwear boost

Footwear and leather experts from the south of India are to travel to the troubled region of Jammu and Kashmir to help establish a local footwear industry.
The initiative is part of a federal government idea to establish an international trade centre in the city of Pampore.
A specialist team from Chennai will travel north next month to investigate the possibilities Jammu and Kashmir might have in the footwear sector.
