Revenue edges higher at Kraton

Engineered polymer company Kraton Polymers LLC has posted improved revenue for the second quarter and six months ended June 30. Total revenues for the second quarter edged 3% higher to $295 million from $285 million in the comparable period of 2006, driven by higher sales volumes and higher average prices. For the first six months, revenues improved 5% to $542 million. However, gross profit for the quarter decreased 2% to $51 million, compared with $53 million, whilst it fell by $21 million to $84 million for the first half of the year.

Kraton produces styrenic block copolymers (SBCs), a family of highly-engineered thermoplastic elastomers, which provide flexibility, resilience, strength, durability and processability in applications such as adhesives, coatings, consumer and personal care products, sealants, lubricants, packaging, and footwear products.
