Footwear manufacturers in Brazil are being encouraged to look to neighbouring Colombia for growth.

 

Footwear manufacturers' association Abicalçados said more Brazilian companies should take part in Colombian trade-shows, such as the International Footwear and Leather Show in Bogotá from August 7-10.

 

The organisation said that of the 36 million pairs of shoes imported into Colombia in 2006, only 7% were from Brazil.
