Higher net sales and new US contract for Rocky Brands

US footwear and apparel company Rocky Brands, Inc. has reported improved sales for its second quarter ended June 30.

Net sales increased 2.6% to $58.8 million compared with $57.3 million for the second quarter of 2006. The company reported net loss of $1.4 million, including a one-time charge of approximately $0.8 million.

The company has also received an order worth approximately $6.4 million from the US military to produce ‘Hot Weather’ boots. Shipment of the boots is expected to begin towards the end of 2007 with an estimated completion date of late 2008. The contract includes the option for four additional years at the same price.
