Brazilian shoe manufacturer and exporter Schmidt Irmãos Calçados Ltda is to inaugurate a new factory in the district of Cachoeira do Sul, in Rio Grande do Sul.

The unit is initially expected to generate over 100 jobs, rising to 300 as production increases. The factory, which will start by producing over 1,000 pairs of ladies' shoes per day, is expected to become the largest of its kind in the region. All shoes produced at the factory will be exported.
