Shares of Chinese athletic footwear producer Anta Sports Products increased by 42% on its Hong Kong Stock Exchange debut. Its offer price of HK$5.28 ($0.68) finished the day at HK$7.5 per share. The company opened with shares peaking at HK$7.91 at the morning close, a 50% increase from its offer price.

Some 381 million Anta shares changed hands on a turnover of HK$2.9 billion.
Chairman Ding Shizhong said the ‘Beijing Olympic effect’ is likely to further impact share performance, as could the company's collaboration with its NBA partner, Houston Rockets.
