In the first year after having implemented a new ERP system supplied by US-based Infor, Thailand-based footwear manufacturer and distributor Muang Thong Mahachai Co. Ltd, has reported increased efficiency and reduced operational costs of THB10 million ($313,829).

The software, which comprises financial, distribution and manufacturing modules, helps to detect changes in demand as well as re-forecasting, rebalancing inventory allocation and optimising product schedules. It minimises waste while increasing quality and productivity and enables the company to manage the style, size and colour matrix throughout the production process. It can also track attributes and actual lot costs through specification matching and corrective preventive action (CAPA).

Established in 1983, The Muang Thong Group’s brands include Gold City, Planet, Nature, Fight, Sunshine and Sunwood and product include sports shoes, boots with leather uppers, snow and army boots, safety shoes, slippers, sandals and health-inspired shoes with magnetic inserts.
