Footwear revenues rise at Nike

Nike, Inc. has reported significantly improved financial results for the fourth quarter and 2007 fiscal year, ended May 31.

For the fourth quarter, revenues increased 9% to $4.4 billion compared with $4 billion for the same period last year. Net income increased 32% to $437.9 million from $332.8 million in the comparable quarter of the prior year. Revenues also grew 9% for the full fiscal year to reach $16.3 billion compared with $15 billion in fiscal 2006, whilst net income increased 7% to $1.5 billion versus $1.4 billion.

For the full year, footwear revenues increased 6% to $4.1 billion in the USA, by 13% to $2.6 billion in Europe, by 11% to $1.2 billion in Asia Pacific, and increased 7% to $679.6 million in the Americas.
