Kenyan buyers place orders at Juft

26/06/2007

Speaking to www.footwearbiz.com at the recent Pakistan International Footwear Exhibition (Juft) fair in Lahore, Joseph Karega, marketing director of Leather-Touch Foot Care Specialists, based in Nairobi, Kenya, said that he had placed an order for 2,000 pairs of footwear worth $29,000 at the show
—the first order he has ever placed with Pakistani manufacturers.

Although his company already imports $60,000 worth of shoes per annum from Egypt, he explained that as a result of increased demand for leathergoods, shoes and accessories in Kenya, he is currently expanding his business and needs to import from different sources, including Pakistan.
