Indian footwear components show rapid growth

Leather footwear exports for the ten-month period from April 2006 to January 2007 increased 20.5% to $755.35 million compared with the prior-year period, while footwear component exports rose 22.9% to $181.28 million. Non-leather footwear exports were up 6% to $46.5 million from $43.9 million.
