Oliver Sweeney to launch customised footwear service

15/06/2007

A new custom-made shoe service is to be launched by British luxury footwear and accessories manufacturer Oliver Sweeney this summer, allowing customers to choose colours and materials—including crocodile, ostrich and iguana leather—from more than 100 designs, to create shoes made using the company’s patented Anatomical Last. The service will also offer a choice of details such as piping, lining and lace options.

Built around two toe shapes, ‘Twister’ and ‘Venice’, customers will be able to choose from a selection of 24 exotic skins in colours ranging from baby blue and cream to bright green and gold. The chosen skin is then combined with one of a range of plain leathers in colours such as khaki, tan and lime. The sole of the shoe can be personalised further with an embossed stamp bearing details such as the wearer’s name or a pertinent message.

The finished design will then be sent to the company’s factory in Ancona, Italy, where it will be made to the customer’s specifications and hand finished.
