Indian leather and leathergoods manufacturer Superhouse Ltd has announced that it will invest Rs500 million ($12.236 million) during the next year to expand production capacity at its footwear division in order to meet increased demand from US markets.
Capacity will be increased by 50% to 15,000 pairs of fashion and safety footwear per day, from the current 10,000 pairs produced, through the addition of two new footwear facilities in Agra and Kanpur, for which the land has already been acquired. It will also set up a new tannery at Unnao to ensure an adequate supply of raw materials to the new facilities.

Superhouse Group currently operates 15 production facilities, including tanneries and leathergoods manufacturing units, employing over 3,000 staff.
