Exhibitors at the 15th Delhi International Leather Fair (DILF), held on May 18-20, have reported positive results from the show having received a good number of enquiries and orders. As well as a large number of Indian footwear component manufacturers, this year’s event attracted 12 companies from China, four from Spain, three from Italy, two from Taiwan, one from Germany and one from the USA.

Foreign visitor attendance also improved as a result of a government funded programme through which some 40 overseas buyers were invited from Spain, the UK, Poland, Romania, Belgium, Portugal, Italy, Cambodia, Finland, Turkey, the Philippines, and Canada.

Highlights of the show included a trend pavilion organised by the Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) and a pavilion highlighting the latest developments in safety footwear.

Products exhibited at the show included finished leather, shoes, shoe components (including uppers, soles, heals, counters, lasts and synthetic lasts), leather garments, fashion accessories, leather goods, machinery and equipment, and chemicals.
