US footwear retailer Payless ShoeSource, Inc. has announced plans to open an eastern distribution centre in Brookville, Ohio. The new facility will work in conjunction with Payless' new centre in Redlands, California, as part of a dual distribution centre plan through which the company aims to improve its logistical efficiency and reduce the time-to-market for its products.

The new 600,000-square-foot facility, which will be located in the Northbrook Industrial Park, is expected to create approximately 300 new jobs.
