Raichle launches new Mt Envy GTX

01/05/2007

Swiss walking boot company Raichle has launched its first Via Ferrata boot, the Mt Envy GTX, a lightweight mountain boot with a Gore-Tex lining.

The boot has a Vibram Mulaz sole unit which has a lower profile than other boots in the company’s range and uses a different rubber compound with a smooth toe to aid precision on technical scrambles and easy climbs. The boot is designed to be used safely on metal pegs and rungs, providing protection to the sole of the foot and is also said to offer good traction, a comfortable bending line and extra stability.

Suitable for use on scree, grass and in snow, its midsole stiffening plate is contoured and curved for comfort whilst walking on level terrain, yet provides enough stiffness to be used with C1 crampons for support whilst edging on rock.
