Malaysian clothing and footwear picks up in March

According to the Malaysian Department of Statistics, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for January to March increased 2.6% to 105.1 compared with 102.4 in the same period last year. The CPI increased 1.5% in March 2007 to 105.0 compared with 103.4 in March 2006 but decreased 1.5% compared with February.
The Clothing & Footwear sector registered a 1.3% decline between January and March but increased by 0.3% in March.
