FKI Logistex delivers new materials handling project for shoe retailer

UK-based FKI Logistex has successfully completed a £6 million automated handling system project for Internet shoe and apparel retailer Zappos.com at the company’s new distribution centre.

Featuring an end-to-end, integrated solution designed to boost product handling efficiency and capacity and help Zappos.com to meet increasing customer demand, the system encompasses receiving, pre-sort, put-away, picking, packing and shipping.

The new Zappos.com warehouse and distribution site incorporates a variety of FKI Logistex equipment including UniSort IV belt-powered pop-up wheel sortation systems, high-speed UniSort XV sliding-shoe sortation systems, saw tooth merges, Accuzone transfer conveyors and Print-and-Apply Modules.
