Sales rise at Big Dog Holdings
Developer and retailer of branded footwear, apparel and consumer goods, Big Dog Holdings, Inc. has posted double-digit sales increases for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31.
Consolidated net sales for the fourth quarter improved 22.2% to reach $72.6 million, compared with $59.4 million in the same quarter of the prior year. Some $13.2 million of this increase was attributed to additional new stores opened during the period, the Steve's Shoes, Inc. acquisition on
For the full year, consolidated net sales were $218.6 million, a 22.1% increase, compared with the $179.1 million reported for 2005. Comparable retail store sales increased 3% for the year.
Big Dog Holdings, Inc. consists of Big Dogs and The Walking Company. Big Dogs develops, and retails branded, lifestyle consumer products including activewear, casual sportswear, accessories and gifts. The Walking Company is a specialty retailer of comfort shoes and accessories including brands such as ECCO, Mephisto, Dansko and Merrell.
