Raw material prices affect profits at Kraton

29/03/2007

US polymer company Kraton Polymers LLC has posted total revenues of $245 million for its fourth quarter ended December 31, compared with $223 million in 2005, an increase of 10%. Growth was driven by an increase in average prices and positive currency effects offsetting a 1% decline in sales volumes. For the full year, total revenues increased 7% to $1,048 million.

Gross profit for the quarter was $37 million compared with $43 million in the comparable period of 2005, a 14% decrease year-on-year due to price increases being offset by higher raw material costs. Gross profit for the year was $204 million, a $5 million decrease.
