Bangladesh footwear exports exceed target

According to the Export Promotion Bureau, Bangladeshi leather footwear exports grew 27.49% between July and December to reach $64.37 million, compared with $50.49 million in the corresponding period in 2005, exceeding the $54.3 million target set for the period by 18.55%. The government’s full year target for footwear exports is $113 million.
