Crocs results beat expectations
US designer and manufacturer of footwear for men, women and children, Crocs, Inc. has reported record financial results for the fourth quarter, ended December 31. Revenues increased 236% to $112.9 million versus $33.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2005, whilst net income improved 395.2% to reach $20.8 million versus $4.2 million. For the full year, revenues increased 226.6% to $354.7 million compared with $108.6 million in 2005 and net income rose 278.8% to reach $64.4 million compared with $17 million.
Gross profit for the fourth quarter was $65.1 million, or 57.7% of revenues, compared with $17.8 million, or 53% of revenues for the comparable quarter in 2005. Gross profit for the full-year was $200.6 million, or 56.6% of revenues, compared with $60.8 million, or 56% of revenues in fiscal 2005.
For the first quarter of fiscal, 2007, the company anticipates total revenues to range from $113 million to $117 million.
Crocs designs, manufactures and retails footwear under the Crocs brand, all of which feature Crocs’ proprietary closed-cell resin, Croslite. Crocs shoes are sold in more than 80 countries around the world.
In 2006, the company acquired the Jibbitz accessory brand which produces snap-on products specifically suited for Crocs shoes.
