Sri Lanka’s footwear exports rise

In spite of a decline in leather and leather goods exports in the period January to November 2006, Sri Lanka has posted a significant increase in footwear exports. Shoe exports increased 49.62% to reach $16.72 million from $11.18 million in January to November 2005.

Sri Lanka's total exports, including leather and footwear, improved 8.04% in the period to reach $6.17 billion.
