New report on US footwear manufacturing industry published

Dublin-based Research and Markets has published a new report on the men’s footwear manufacturing industry, excluding athletic footwear, in the USA and its foreign trade from 1996-to 2008.

The report focuses on the establishments engaged in manufacturing men’s footwear designed primarily for dress, street, and work with rubber or plastics soles and leather or vinyl uppers.

In 2005, the industry in the USA, which comprised 95 establishments, reported revenue of approximately $1,040,000,000, with gross profit of $268,320,000.

However, the total import value for the year was $4,081,535,000, with 87% of imports coming from China ($2,889,703,000), Italy ($301,907,000), Brazil, ($134,053,000), Mexico ($119,635,000), and India ($110,372,000).
