Kohl’s to launch Tony Hawk shoe collection
American department store Kohl’s Corporation has signed a licence agreement with Tony Hawk, Inc. to gain exclusive rights to its Tony Hawk footwear. The licence covers a range of footwear products including fashion skate shoes and sandals, which will appear in all of Kohl’s stores from February. Licence exclusions include the professional skate shoe category and sporting goods items such as ski boots, snowboard boots, swim fins and other footwear sport performance items. Kohl’s will be responsible for product design whilst Tony Hawk will be part of the design review process.
Well known skateboarder Tony Hawk is the founder of the Tony Hawk footwear collection. He was ranked the number one vert ramp skateboarder in the world every year from 1984 to 1996. He also founded Hawk Clothing, which was sold to Quiksilver, Inc. in 2000 and was exclusively licensed to Kohl’s in 2005.
