Canadian Trade Tribunal will not review Chinese footwear order

02/02/2007

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal has decided not to initiate a review of its order made on October 18, 2002, concerning waterproof rubber footwear originating in or exported from the People's Republic of China
.

In a statement, the tribunal said it did not believe that a review was warranted and that it would issue the reasons for its determination on February 15. The order will therefore expire on October 17 and, after that date, the Canada Border Services Agency will no longer impose anti-dumping duties.

The tribunal is an independent body that reports to parliament through the Minister of Finance.
