G-Star works with Overland on new footwear range
Netherlands-based denim and casual wear company G-Star Raw has collaborated with Overland Shoes to produce the first ever G-Star Raw Footwear collection.
Elements from the fashion line are reflected in the new shoe collection, with details such as the rivets and the flight chevron canvas fabrics used for uppers and stitched on as details.
The 200-piece collection bridges menswear and womenswear and sits within four categories: Military, Utility, Night and PT Sport (Physical Training Sport).
Military, Utility and Night are made with a Goodyear Welted construction, where the upper leather is stitched onto a leather welt which is stitched onto the outsole, giving them higher durability. Leather insoles are also used, as are cork filling and traditional hand-crafted methods.
The company launched its collection for autumn/winter 2007 at Bread & Butter in Barcelona and selected styles from the PT Sport range will reach stores as early as March. The full collection will be available in August.
