Indian leather footwear exports rise by 7.42%

According to figures released by the Indian Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Indian leather footwear exports increased by 19.1% between April and September 2006 to reach $1.49 billion compared with $1.387 billion in the corresponding period in 2005.

Footwear component exports increased by 9.61% to reach $110.79 million from the $101.08 million reported in the comparable prior year period. Meanwhile non-leather footwear exports rose 34.7% year-on-year to reach $34.29 million from $25.46 million.
