Thuong Dinh increases exports despite anti-dumping duties

16/01/2007

In spite of the anti-dumping duties imposed on Vietnamese and Chinese footwear by the European Union, Vietnam-based manufacturer Thuong Dinh Footwear has posted a significant increase in export sales, with nearly half of the 5.5 million pairs produced by the company having been shipped overseas in 2006.

The company reported export revenues of $5.4 million for 2006a marked increase from the $4.7 million reported in 2005. This was attributed to expansion in export markets other than the EU such as the Americas and South Africa as a result of relaxed trading regulations and duties.
