Huntsman opens new Singapore polyetheramine facility

15/01/2007

The construction of chemical company Huntsman Corporation’s first Asia Pacific polyetheramines site is on schedule and is expected to be in commercial production in the third quarter 2007. The facility, located in
Jurong Island, Singapore, will help the company to meet increasing demand for its Jeffamine polyetheramines products.

The new plant will produce 30 million pounds of Jeffamine products annually, complementing the company’s larger polyetheramines facilities in Conroe, Texas, USA, and Llanelli, Wales.

Key Jeffamine polyetheramine applications include epoxy coatings and organic pigments. For the most part, these products undergo typical amine reactions and are low viscosity, colour and vapour pressure.

Huntsman manufactures products for a variety of global industries, including textiles, footwear, chemicals and plastics.
