Holiday period sales down at Bakers Footwear

US fashion footwear company Bakers Footwear Group, Inc., saw a fall of 7.9% in net sales for the two month holiday period to the end of December last year. Sales amounted to $45.7 million compared with $49.6 million for same two-month period to December 2005, with comparable store sales decreasing 16.1% compared with a 27.2% increase in the comparable period the year before.
Meanwhile, Peter Edison, chairman and CEO, Baker Footwear’s will host presentations at the Cowen & Company and ICR XChange investor conferences this month. The Cowen & Company fifth annual consumer conference presentation is scheduled for January 9, at The Westin New York at Times Square, and the ninth annual ICR XChange conference presentation is scheduled for January 11, at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, California.
