Clarks uses 3DSOM Pro software in design process

British shoe manufacturer Clarks is to use 3DSOM Pro software as part of its in-house design process. The technology will enable the company’s design team to create 3D scans of shoes using photographs of the prototype.

Senior CAD engineer Graham Foote said, "We now have the ability to visualise 3D virtual versions of an existing shoe with a range of different colours and materials." These techniques should help to improve the communication of design ideas within the organisation and with external suppliers.
